Shelter: As the only licensed homeless youth shelter in the Denver Metro area, Urban Peak provides shelter to youth as long as they are progressing on their case plan. While at the shelter, they receive meals, case management, counseling, health care and other services.
Intensive Case Management: All youth at Urban Peak Denver are assigned a case manager who works with them on the goal of permanently exiting street life. Components of case management may include mental health assessments, substance abuse education, legal advocacy, behavior management, life skills, and medical and dental care.
Employment Services: The Urban Peak Employment Program provides youth with individualized employment counseling, resume development, job coaching, transportation, training, and employer connections.
Education Services: Urban Peak, in collaboration with Denver Public Schools and the Community College of Denver GED Institute, has a GED program and works toward developing relationships with college, university, and community college representatives, and participating in community forums designed to re-engage youth in their home schools.
Computer Lab: Urban Peak has a computer lab with Pentium class computers, a digital camera, a flatbed scanner, and a color printer. Urban Peak's computer lab curriculum focuses on developing computer-related skills such as Microsoft Office, Internet, Adobe PhotoShop, HTML, email, and more.
Street Outreach: The Street Outreach Program utilizes specially trained counselors, peer leaders, and volunteers who are on the streets seven days a week interacting with youth. Their goals are to develop a sense of trust and build relationships with these youth, provide them with intensive case management, encourage them to come to Urban Peak, and connect them with resources in the community.
Medical Services: A collaboration with several health providers allows Urban Peak to provide free medical services to homeless youth on-site every day of the week. Through the clinic, youth also receive specialized care. Mental health and substance abuse counselors and treatment services are offered. Dental care is provided by a private practitioner who volunteers his time.
