What might a better shelter look like? With city money, Denver might soon see

The optimist in charge of Denver’s only licensed shelter for young people experiencing homelessness says that across Denver, there’s new understanding of the need for continuity and collaboration.

Earlier this year, Mayor Michael Hancock announced the city would spend some $10 million over the next three years to improve shelters, including offering people experiencing homelessness more places to escape from the streets and get support during the day.

The CEO of Urban Peak says she’ll soon be able to show what a better shelter can look like.
