In this week's Word of Thanks, we want to support Urban Peak, the non-profit that has been helping young people experiencing homelessness in Denver for decades.

During this season of giving, Denver7 and Larry H. Miller Dealerships have teamed up to recognize and share the stories of five local nonprofit organizations that impact the lives of ordinary people and, in doing so, are strengthening our communities and enriching the lives of others.

Urban Peak, founded in 1988, is a part of The Denver Post Community Foundation’s Season to Share program. Besides its short- and long-term apartment units, the organization runs a 40-person homeless shelter on South Acoma Street that addresses young people’s more immediate needs.
